Emergency Capacity Management System:
This is a piece of software used by the Ambulance service as a database of services they can utilise.
It is updated by the services themselves.
We are piloting it initially
The first step is to populate the directory with a few services.
The first Directory of Services (DoS) is now being constructed and will
include the falls prevention service, the intermediate care team, the
continence service and the chronic respiratory disease service. It is also hoped to add mental health
services and adult social care. These six services will form the basis for a
two month pilot (October-November) of the use of the system by South East Coast
Ambulance Service in locating services for patients classified as category
C. The pilot will be evaluated by the
end of December.
The data entry software is currently being
rewritten. Once this is complete we plan
to extend the DoS to include a wider range of services and consider how to
extend the user base to include community clinicians
